Weddin Community Transport is a division of Coast and Country Community Services Inc. They provides transport to frail aged, people with disabilities and their carers and isolated people. People on DVA pensions are also welcome.
Transport around Grenfell, within 10km from the Post Office is provided by the local taxi service. This transport can be for any purpose. Each client is entitled to 8 one way trips per month at a subsidised rate. Taxi vouchers are available from our office located at the Community Services centre at 14 Short St.
The majority of Community Transport’s out of town trips are provided using our own service vehicles with volunteer drivers. Trips are mainly of a medical nature but we may be able to help with transport for other purposes if a car and driver are available.
Regular access trips are arranged to a variety of destinations in the community bus. The trip can be for any purpose and the cost is kept to a minimum. Note. Shopping bags are limited to two per person.
All clients must be assessed before their first trip. After initial assessment clients are asked to book as early as possible to ensure transport on the day is available. Several passengers may have to share a car and this can result in having to wait until others are finished. Waiting time is kept to a minimum. Bookings can be made through our online booking form or by contacting us directly.
Social trips and Men’s Only Social trips are taken to various interesting activities during the year, please enquire at the office for future planned trips. Please refer to events page for information about upcoming events with transport provided by Weddin Community Transport.
Please enquire for information on the current costs for the tansport services we provide. A carer is able to accompany a passenger at no extra cost but they must remain with the passenger at all times.
